Octavia Butler’s “A Few Rules…”

It is easy to feel that we are living in an Octavia Butler novel, which is why our June 13th of the Month event will explore her work and how it informs these times.

From current attempts to erase Black history — and the importance of remembering that her book Kindred reveals — to the “make America great again” presidential slogans and policies that now seem like foreshadowing in her book The Parable of the Talents, Octavia E. Butler lays out the issues and sets us on a journey of discovering solutions.
